Benj Conway is an entrepreneur, investor and former diplomat.  Benj studied medicine at Gonville and Caius College Cambridge (1st Class) and University College, Oxford and spent his early career at the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office working across Asia and the Middle East.  In the decade since leaving government, Benj has founded and invested in companies in emerging markets and new technologies.  He co-founded InFrontier with Felix von Schubert in 2013 as a specialist platform to conduct investments in frontier geographies.

Felix von Schubert has over 20 years of private equity, technology investment and operating experience. Felix co-founded InFrontier in 2013 with Benj Conway.  Previously, he co-founded Zouk Capital, an independent private equity and infrastructure fund manager dedicated to the cleantech and renewable energy market, managing over $600 million. Felix has been involved in over 25 investments in Europe, North America and Asia. Felix started his career at JPMorgan’s M&A practice focusing on energy and technology clients. He is fluent in German, French, English and Russian. 




KABUL, AFGHANISTAN

Yousef Mehrabi is a Principal with InFrontier, managing the Afghanistan team. He has over 8 years investment experience focusing on private equity, real estate and public equities. Prior to joining InFrontier, Yousef worked in investment management and investment banking at Cambridge Associates and Avondale Partners. Yousef is an adjunct professor of finance and business advisory board member at the American University of Afghanistan. A fluent Pashto and Dari speaker, he holds a Masters in Finance from Vanderbilt University and Bachelors in Finance from George Mason University where he graduated magna cum laude. 

Walid Qazizada is a Senior Investment Manager, holding a Master of Finance from Judge Business School - University of Cambridge, and MA in Development Economics from Kingston University London and is an Adjunct Faculty member at the American University of Afghanistan. Walid began his career as a finance consultant with Metis Solution, seconded to the Ministry of Defense and Deloitte, at the Ministry of Finance. He is fluent in English and Dari.

Naeem Shah has worked as InFrontier’s operational support since 2013.  Previously he worked as a translator and operations assistant for ISAF.  He conducts market research, supports the team logistics and brings encyclopaedic local knowledge.  He is fluent in Pashto, Dari and English.

TASHKENT, UZBEKISTAN

Roza Safarova leads InFrontier’s investments in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. She has seven years of experience in emerging markets private equity, digital financial services, and equity sales. Roza is also a consultant at the International Finance Corporation in Washington DC and before that, with VTB Capital in New York. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the National University of Uzbekistan and a master’s degree from the Fletcher School at Tufts University. She is fluent in Uzbek, Russian, and English. 


KARACHI, PAKISTAN

Zoya Zaidi is the former Deputy Head of Research at AKD Securities, specialising in financial services, telecoms and F&B sectors, with a strong track record in market analysis and forecasting. Prior to AKD, Zoya worked at BMA Capital Management. Zoya holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Institute of Business Management in Karachi, Pakistan and is a fluent English and Urdu speaker.
